In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, IFSA has moved to increased meetings using web-based systems. In exciting news, at its recent meeting in June, IFSA members approved a Research and Innovation Position Statement. The aim of the Position Statement is to provide leadership and promote research in areas of operational relevance that are critical to scientific service provision. The Position Statement will be launched shortly following design.

IFSA members also progressed the Minimum Requirements Documents (MRDs) for Digital and Multimedia Evidence, Questioned Documents and Latent Prints. Members agreed to commence the development of an MRD for Toxicology review existing MRDs for Seized Drug Analysis, DNA and Crime Scene Investigation.
